I am a qualified teacher and former Head of English, with over a decade in the classroom and experience marking for major exam boards. My teaching style is calm and purposeful, which tends to suit students who have lost confidence or find English difficult. Every lesson is planned and taught by me, never handed to anyone else.

Preparation for entrance exams: comprehension, creative and discursive writing and the interview. We work to the format of the schools you are actually applying to, so nothing on the day comes as a surprise.

Language and Literature, across all major boards. Set texts taught properly, alongside the exam craft that turns a developed reading of a novel or non-fiction text into marks: essay structure, choosing quotations well, and writing to time.
